The Great Northern Grain Elevator in Buffalo, NY is the last "brick box" grain elevator in the world. Built in 1897, this was one of the largest, and still is, grain elevators. This has been classed as a Buffalo historical landmark, but the company that owns the building, ADM, has got a court order to demolish it. Preservationists, historians, and fellow Buffalonians have been fighting in court and protesting for the building to keep standing. The appeal against the demolition has been rejected, and that decision seems final.
